Our very own Coetta Neece, membership co-chair, met with Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears today in Clintwood, VA! 🖤💛 Coetta presented the Lt. Governor with a card and some Southwest Region swag, proudly representing our amazing region.
We’re thrilled to have Lt. Governor Earle-Sears as a strong supporter of nurse practitioners. Thank you, Coetta, for showcasing the incredible work of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners – Southwest Region. Big things are happening in SWVA! 🌟
We had a fantastic morning at The Martha Washington Inn, enjoying a delicious breakfast and a captivating speaker on Parkinson Psychosis.

What an incredible last day of the 2024 AANP National Conference in Nashville, TN! We made a big impact on the national stage, and I want to give a huge shoutout to Tauna Gulley for her poster presentation – representing us with pride! 🌟

and Dr. Laurie Anne Ferguson-Parker, who was presenting on X-ray Interpretation and Basic Splinting. It was an amazing session where we helped fellow NPs gain confidence in managing basic fractures. 🩻

A little about me: I work for the Department of Corrections in a Maximum Security Male Prison. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of two wonderful kids, wife to a motorcycle enthusiast, and the caretaker of 6 chickens! 🐔

We are in our election cycle now. We will be discussing nominations for our region’s President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. Voting will be held November 1-15.
We need to discuss a Legislative reception to let our state legislators know more about APRNs and the role we play in keeping their constituents healthy.
NP week is in November and we need to discuss ideas for this special week to celebrate!
2024 is VCNP’s 50th Anniversary! We need to update our region’s timeline for the state conference in Williamsburg in March as well as discuss plans for our region’s raffle basket and door prize.
We have a full slate for this meeting and need as many of our members to attend as possible!
