To qualify for recertification by practice and CE, a certificant must complete a minimum of 1,000 practice hours as an NP in the population-focus of their certification, within their five-year certification period. In addition to a direct patient care role, eligible practice hours can now include administrative, educational and research roles. Additional information can be found on the AANPCB website.

HB 2183: HWI Subcommittee Update

During yesterday’s House Health, Welfare & Institutions subcommittee, House Bill 2183 failed to move forward after a tie vote. With support from the Governor’s Office and our patron, Delegate Roxann Robinson, VCNP is working through the legislative process. HB 2183, like all legislation, is not dead until the General Assembly adjourns in March.

We thank all of you for your support and will continue to update you on legislative developments. The General Assembly moves and changes quickly. Look to VCNP to provide the latest updates.

If you have questions about the legislative process, please contact us at vcnp@vcnp.net.
