Dr. Felecia M. Copeland, DNP, FNP-C
Dr. Copeland joined the Richmond Region of VCNP in 2016 through student membership. She applauds VCNP for years of diverse mentorship throughout her professional development within this organization. To date, Dr Copeland humbly serves as Co-Chair of Membership, collaborating with an interdisciplinary goal, to increase membership, engage in healthcare policy, and foster student engagement at the local and state levels. Dr Copeland has a holistic passion for her scope of practice as a nursing scholar. She obtained a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She obtained the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees from South University where she proposed and conducted research on populations with multiple chronic conditions. Dr Copeland is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and remains dedicated to her patients by staying current with various patient specific practice guidelines, engaging in ongoing professional development and recertifications and providing, holistic, culturally sensitive, patient-centered healthcare for diverse populations. When asked about her best reward in healthcare, she replied: “My best reward is working with my patients and their families to successfully navigate through the complexities of our healthcare system.”
